
Deputy Electoral Field Director-Statewide

Compensation: Salary: $70,000-$75,000 annualized based on experience

About Role:
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities and will be expected to manage staff directly for or on behalf of candidates, issue based or voter registration campaigns, and develop and implement strategic plans. Superior project management skills are a must to ensure that campaign strategies and tactics adapt and change with the dynamics of the 2024 election cycle. This position reports directly to the Field Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Goal Achievement: Drive the achievement of assigned project field goals, shifts, commitment cards, and other performance metrics. Develop and execute monthly, weekly, and daily goals that are in alignment with overarching campaign objectives.

Data Systems Implementation : Maintain and ensure adherence to data systems essential for tracking progress and reaching performance goals. Continuously analyze data to identify areas for improvement and inform decision-making of State and Field Directors. Conduct daily check-ins with Data staff to understand progress towards goals and the quality of work being done in the field.

Client Relations and Support: Serve as a secondary point of contact and resource for assigned clients and their teams through regular check-ins. Foster strong relationships and address any client concerns or inquiries promptly and effectively.

Campaign Strategy Implementation: Oversee the implementation of core campaign strategies and tactics for field canvassing. Ensure alignment with campaign objectives and monitor effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.

Team Management: Support, supervise, coach, and train all staff to ensure optimal performance and adherence to established standards and protocols.

Field Support: Travel across the state to support canvass Regional Deputy Directors, Team Leads, and canvassers in executing goals and metrics. Provide on-the-ground assistance and guidance as needed.

Event Coordination: Staff and attend events throughout the state to represent the organization and clients goals.

Human Resources Collaboration: Partner with human resources for all hiring needs, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding of field staff. Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
​
Required:
-
Have 2-5 years of experience in field campaigns or 2-3 complete cycles of campaign organizing or similar community organizing experience - including staff management or previous management experience

Experience recruiting, training, and managing field staff
-
Experience managing some aspects of a GOTV operation, including overseeing and ensuring the work remains on track.

Ability to work well within a team and independently.

Ability to develop work plans, facilitate ongoing check-ins and planning meetings, conduct annual performance reviews, manage the hiring process for any new hires, create curriculum and training, ensure adherence to organizational policies and values, and develop monthly reports.

Robust technology and analytics skills, including extensive experience with VAN databases and Google/Excel Sheets.

Have a metrics-driven approach to planning, evaluating, and reporting with daily data entering and tracking.

Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess strong emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal communication skills that create positive relationships with members, staff, partners, and clients.

Ability to lead with cultural competency and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with colleagues, voters, and volunteers who identify as POC and across lines of difference.

Experience working cross-functionally with HR and Ops teams.

Access to a vehicle, laptop, internet, and mobile phone.

This role requires you to stand and walk for long periods of time in both indoor and outdoor settings including a variety of weather conditions (rainy, snow, hot and/or cold).

Must be able to travel at least 20% of the time for work (reliable transportation required)
