About Role:

We are seeking dynamic and proactive Talent Recruiters with a passion for community engagement and a commitment to social justice principles. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, a Talent Recruiter will play a pivotal role in driving recruitment efforts to build our team of canvassers. This role requires a hands-on approach, with a focus on street-level engagement and building strong relationships within the community. The HR Manager will oversee the hiring process and inform the Field Director of the hiring status.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ​Conduct field recruitment for an average of 4-5 hours per day, actively engaging with the community to identify and recruit potential canvassers.

  • Aim to collect a minimum of 15 contacts (phone numbers) daily from various locations, including workforce development centers, high-density areas, and community events.

  • Ensure timely follow-up within 24 hours to maintain momentum and interest among potential recruits.

  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers and regional directors to assess staffing needs and align recruitment efforts accordingly.

  • Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies tailored to grassroots efforts, including organizing and hosting recruitment events within the community.

  • Screen candidates effectively to ensure alignment with job requirements and organizational values.

  • Facilitate management of interviews and provide recommendations to hiring managers based on candidate qualifications.

  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and candidate interactions.

  • Participate in training opportunities, maintain professional networks, and contribute to organizational events to enhance recruitment effectiveness.

  • Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:

​

Required:

  • ​Strong recruiting and networking skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage with diverse communities.

  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage recruitment activities effectively.

  • Proficiency in phone, Zoom, and online meeting platforms.

  • Commitment to workplace diversity and familiarity with relevant employment laws.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (4-5 hours).​

Preferred, but not required, you will also:

  • ​Bilingual proficiency (Fluent in Spanish).

  • 2-4 years of recruiting experience

  • Experience recruiting in grassroots or community-based organizations.

  • Forward-thinking mindset with adaptability and a proactive approach.

  • Strong strategic thinking abilities.
