About Role:

As a Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our field operations by providing expertise in voter registration and field activities. You will be responsible for conducting training using materials developed by our team, ensuring alignment with campaign objectives. Additionally, you will actively participate in the field, shadowing new canvassers to identify training needs and provide on-the-job support. Trainers must possess an Arizona driver’s license and have daily access to a reliable automobile. In-state travel is required. This position reports directly to the Field Director.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ​Execute and conduct pre-created training for field canvassing and voter registration, aligning them with the client campaign’s goals and objectives, drawing from materials developed by our team.

  • Provide feedback and adjust pieces of training based on the needs of different campaign phases, leveraging insights gained from field shadowing.

  • Attend all major statewide trainings, including all-staff training and volunteer summits, and support the HR team with compliance training as needed.

  • Conduct daily onboarding training during campaign ramp-ups, and during slower periods, conduct at least two onboarding trainings per week/weekend.

  • Develop supplementary materials such as one-pagers, update presentations, and access to scripts to enhance training effectiveness.

  • Build strong relationships with other departments to establish cross-departmental systems, training, and structures to support the statewide field team.

  • Identify and train potential co-trainers to expand training capacity.

  • Spend an average of 2-3 hours in the field shadowing canvassers to identify additional training needs.

  • Update current trainings and presentations as necessary to reflect changes in campaign strategy or procedures.

  • Attend necessary meetings and maintain well-organized work logs.

  • Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:

​

Required:

  • ​Arizona driver’s license 

  • Reliable transportation at all times.

  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred, especially fluency in Spanish.

  • Demonstrated a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and stand/walk for at least 5 hours.

  • Prior experience working on a campaign or canvassing in the field for at least one full cycle.

  • Strong public speaking skills with prior experience.

Preferred, but not required, you will also:

  • ​Forward-thinking, adaptable, and go-getter attitude.

  • Strategic mindset with experience in strategizing campaign activities.

  • Experience leading or managing a team or staff of at least 5.
